we all meet in sydney

the morning we say farewell to sydney and travel north. we pass through port macquarie and stop for lunch before arriving later this evening in byron.
6.april
today we split into groups of 15 and head to the byron river. qualified instructors will be waiting to take you on the ride of your life. board kayaks and head down the local waterways. if you are lucky you will see dolphins up close. there is time this afternoon to explore the town of byron bay before heading back to camp in the early evening for dinner.

we head north this morning, passing through the country towns of nambour and gypmie. we camp tonight in raglan, south of rockhampton in local gun club. tonight we enjoy a roast dinner.

the sight of the tropic of capricorn marker signals that we are passing through rockhampton, the best beef capital of australia. we stop briefly for photographs before heading further north. fields of sugarcane flank the road from mackay, site of the world's largest sugar handling facility. now the land becomes more suited to grazing. finally we sight the crystal blue waters of the whitsunday passage.

this afternoon we board our flight and arrive in alice springs. zou have free time today to explore the town. this evening we make a spectacular msuical and visual journey through astralia's ancient landforms and culture at andrew langford's sounds of starlight theatre.

our sightseeing of alice springs sstarts with a visit to the look-our on top of anyac hill which offers an all round view of the town. see the vast spread of the macdonnell ranges, the heavitree gap, todd river and the surrounding desert landscape. this morning we drive around alice springs and see its major landmarks before visiting australia's unique royal flying docot service and rex the reptile demonstration. there is free time to explore the town.

early rise this morning to start the climb up ayers rock. your effort is rewareded with a literally breathteking view of the surrounding plains, but zou should not try to climb the stately uluru you are not fit. we head north this morning, passing through the country towns of nambour and gypmie. we camp tonight in raglan, south of rockhampton in local gun club. tonight we enjoy a roast dinner.

the sight of the tropic of capricorn marker signals that we are passing through rockhampton, the best beef capital of australia. we stop briefly for photographs before heading further north. fields of sugarcane flank the road from mackay, site of the world's largest sugar handling facility. now the land becomes more suited to grazing. finally we sight the crystal blue waters of the whitsunday passage.

this afternoon we board our flight and arrive in alice springs. zou have free time today to explore the town. this evening we make a spectacular msuical and visual journey through astralia's ancient landforms and culture at andrew langford's sounds of starlight theatre.

our sightseeing of alice springs sstarts with a visit to the look-our on top of anyac hill which offers an all round view of the town. see the vast spread of the macdonnell ranges, the heavitree gap, todd river and the surrounding desert landscape. this morning we drive around alice springs and see its major landmarks before visiting australia's unique royal flying docot service and rex the reptile demonstration. there is free time to explore the town.

farewell alice springs head for kings creek station and set up camp. from there we proceed to kings canyon which was used as a spectacular natural back dop in priscilla queen of the desert. the sheer walls of the canyon rise uop 270 metres, making it the deepest gorge in central australia. the more adventurous may like to walk to the rim of the canyon, which offers spectacular views over the "lost city" and "garden eden". tonight we enjoy an evening of fun and frivolity with the priscilla show.

today we head east passing erldunda before changing direction south, passing the oasisi of the marla bore with plenty of lizards, mulga and salt bush. we arrive in the early evening in coober pedy, where most of the residents sleep underground.

the coach heads inland an dpasses through the town of renmarka, which is famous for being the oldest irrigation area in austalia, founded by the chaffey brothers. today lush orchards and vineyards thrive with water piped from the murray river. tonight we sleep on the bank of the murray river.

today we head down the sunraysia highway, passing the grampians national park on our way to warrnambool. this area is famous for its history of shipwrecks and tonight we will witness a spactacular sound and laser light show depicting some of the history of the sourhern coast and the poor souls who have lost their lives attempting to land on one of australia's most dangerous coastlines. our camp tonight is close to shops and the beach.

we now take a long leisurely look at the great ocean road. there will be time for numerous photo stops along the way as we pass the most rugged and harsh coastline in austalia. see if you identify and count the twelve apostles. we arrive late in the afternoon in melbourne, the shopping capital of australia.

26. april time to see the city designed by walter burley griffin, which has transformed sheep paddocks into a modern city. at the regatta point exhibition, the development of canberra is explained. we take a short tour of the war memorial before heading up the highway to sydney.

this morning we visit melbourne. today is free for you to explore, why not ride one of the free trams or visit the many shops.
25. april
we now say farewell to melbourne and head towards canberra, on arrival we take a short tour of the embassy circuit before returning to our accommondation for the night.
26. april time to see the city designed by walter burley griffin, which has transformed sheep paddocks into a modern city. at the regatta point exhibition, the development of canberra is explained. we take a short tour of the war memorial before heading up the highway to sydney.
27. april
let's discover australias largest city. our city sights tour will show you sydneys city hall, the opera house, darling harbour, centre point tower and the queen victoria building. there is free time to explore the city. late afternoon we travel to the airport say farewell to our new friends and head home.
